Black Range Land Management Group

About us

We are a volunteer landholder-led group working to improve the biodiversity, conservation and resilience of the Black Range environment south of Stawell. We support fellow landholders and partner with organisations to work together to develop understanding and improve management of this landscape ecology. We seek to learn with and be guided by Traditional Owners in developing partnership to care for this unceded land.

The BRLMG was formed in 1987 and is one of the first Landcare groups in the Wimmera and Victoria. The group brought about significant improvements in rabbit and invasive plant control and understory revegetation across the Range over the following thirty years.

After an inactive phase, since 2019 our Group has rejunated to now involve some 27 private landholdings, 45 members, and over 950 hectares, working in partnership with public land managers and Traditional Owners.
